Key features of global logistics and supply chain management, including concepts, theories, and upstream and downstream business activities. Topics covered included demand forecasting, inventory control, warehouse and distribution centers, and international sourcing for businesses. Special emphasis will be given to topics like six sigma quality, inventory management, logistics, distribution, and global transport management; concepts like inbound and outbound logistics, offshore logistics, and inshore logistics.

Course description:

An overview of the international marketing environment, including how businesses enter international markets and how they decide whether to standardize or alter the marketing mix. Topics covered include international trading, trade theory, international marketing strategies, and pricing decisions for international markets. Students will learn to identify consumer behavior internationally, the challenges of product distribution globally, sales and negotiations, and product or service branding policies for the international market. Moreover, students will learn to compare and contrast marketing functions across countries in light of the environment's cultural, economic, political, social, and physical dimensions.

Course description:

An overview of the law and its application, operating procedures, the legal environment, contract formation and enforcement in business, as well as agency problems in the business environment. Topics covered include: ownership of real and intellectual property; the fundamental concept of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret; the difference between them; the owner’s rights for patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret; the lifecycle of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret; and the value of intellectual property. In addition, students will learn to explain the consequences of intellectual property on people, businesses, and organizations, as well as business relationships between debtors and creditors. Local and international employment law, including employment discrimination, the resolution of conflicts through the legal and other systems, and ethics in business are also covered in this course.
