Course description:

Fundamental functions of management, including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling in the organization; the role of a manager in the organization, and how management evolved over time. Topics covered include organizational structures, concepts of leadership and their role in organizations, employee motivation, managing working teams and groups in the organization, national culture and organizational culture, diversity, and how businesses are managing in the global environment.

Course learning outcome (CLOs):

  • Explain management, and the importance of history and theory.
  • Discuss organization's environments, national culture, organizational culture and structure of organization.
  • Discuss the functions of management and formulate strategies for the organizations home and abroad.
  • Discuss leadership qualities, and recognize motivational techniques to use for individuals, work groups and team members.
